首届长城文化和旅游融合发展大会对话世界遗产主题交流会| Glenn Mandziuk：世界文化遗产旅游到可持续酒店业的责任践行

From April 24 to 26, 2025, the first Great Wall Cultural and Tourism Integration Development Conference was successfully held in Qian'an City, Hebei Province. The conference was hosted by the China Tourism Association and jointly organized by the Great Wall Branch of the China Tourism Association and the Qian'an Tourism Association. On the afternoon of the 25th, the themed exchange meeting "Dialogue with World Heritage" was successfully convened. Glenn Mandziuk, CEO of the World Sustainable Hospitality Alliance (the Alliance), delivered a keynote speech on " From World Heritage Tourism to Responsible Practices in Sustainable Hospitality."

2025年4月24日至26日，首届长城文化和旅游融合发展大会在河北省迁安市成功举办。本次大会由中国旅游协会主办，中国旅游协会长城分会、迁安市旅游协会携手承办。25日下午，对话世界遗产主题交流会顺利召开。世界可持续酒店联盟（the Alliance）首席执行官Glenn Mandziuk围绕“世界文化遗产旅游到可持续酒店业的责任践行”发表了主题发言。

In his speech, Glenn Mandziuk pointed out that Alliance is a vibrant community composed of enterprises along the hospitality industry value chain. Upholding the concept of "Net Positive Hospitality," the Alliance aims to drive the industry to enhance human well being, protect the Earth's ecology, and benefit society. Given that the hospitality industry is a large scale and extensively connected global industry, closely linked to communities, cultures, and ecosystems across continents, he emphasized that the industry should assume the significant responsibility of protecting destinations, their local cultures, and cultural heritages. To fulfill this responsibility, the Alliance takes multiple approaches. By uniting enterprises, it provides hotels with practical tools, training, and knowledge sharing opportunities to help them reduce environmental impacts and respect local cultures. The Alliance formulates global frameworks for sustainable operations and industryleading tools, promoting work such as water resource conservation and energy efficiency improvements. Additionally, it collaborates with local partners to establish community led tourism models, ensuring that economic benefits remain within the local areas. Taking the Chinese Great Wall as an example, in the face of threats such as climate change and overtourism, the Alliance hopes that through the above actions, it can not only assist enterprises in achieving sustainable development but also safeguard precious world heritages for future generations, enabling the hospitality industry to become a core force in resolving the contradictions between development and conservation.

Glenn Mandziuk在发言中指出，the Alliance是由酒店业价值链企业汇聚而成的活力社群，秉持“净积极影响酒店业”理念，旨在推动行业提升人类福祉、守护地球生态、惠及社会群体。鉴于酒店业作为全球规模庞大且联系广泛的产业，与各大洲的社群、文化及生态系统紧密相连，他强调行业应承担起保护目的地及其人文、文化遗产的重任。为落实这一责任，The Alliance 通过凝聚企业力量，为酒店提供实用工具、培训及知识共享，助力其降低环境影响、尊重本土文化；制定全球可持续运营框架与行业工具，推进水资源保护、节能减排等工作；联合当地伙伴构建社群主导的旅游模式，保障经济收益留存当地。以中国长城为例，面对气候变化、过度旅游等威胁，The Alliance 希望通过上述行动，既助力企业实现可持续发展，又能为后代守护珍贵的世界遗产，让酒店行业成为解决发展与保护矛盾的核心力量。

And when we talk about destination stewardship, we're talking about protecting those treasures like the Great Wall of China and marvel of human achievement and a symbol of cultural heritage that stretches back 1000s of years.
